5 Faster Typing Tips and Techniques

Typing is fun like playing a game, especially if you’re a writing lover. Whenever an idea comes to your head or you just want to chat over a computer, the feeling of scribbling things down on a computer is awesome.

Typing faster makes you a lot more productive. Research says that typing faster could save you 20 to 25 days every year just by typing faster!

Many people look up to faster typists and wish to handle a keyboard as they do. The truth is that none of them started that way, and they had to learn.

Here, you’ll learn how to type faster with some useful tips and techniques:

1. Find Correct Posture

To type well, the correct posture will be seated, straight-backed, and with your feet planted a little apart, flat on the ground, or on a support plain rod in your desk lower area. Your hands should also be positioned in such a way that your fingers can cover the keyboard. Position your head so you can look at the screen properly as well.

Adjust your chair as per your comfortable posture, so that you will not be forcing yourself into a posture. let your surroundings help you.

2. Get Familiar to your keyboard

The keyboard is your tool here, and to master this talent you need to get familiar with your tool. There are different keyboard layouts, the most common one is QWERTY. It is called that because of the letters that make the top left corner.

3. Start Slowly with correct fingers

Improving your speed as you type is a matter of developing your skill over time. However, the quickest way to master typing slow but maintaining the correct position of your fingers. Every key on your keyboard is meant for a particular finger. If this is your first time with correct finger typing, then you might spend a lot of time on this step. However, once you can type without looking at the keys, your speed will increase.

4. Stay persistent and Don’t Look at Your Hands

The whole essence of this step is to keep you from looking at your keyboard as you type so that your fingers are made to learn how the keys work.

If you are typing incorrectly while not looking at your hands, it okay, its totally okay. You are not the only one, it happens to everyone. You have to be persistent and try to correct your mistakes along the way.

5. Practice, Practice, Practice

Once your posture is up and you follow the above tips, you get your fingers where they should be, now you can only improve by practicing.

Spare some time on a daily basis to practice and master both accuracy and speed. With continuous practice, you will also notice that you make fewer errors with time.
